It must be in the blood, I continued the family tradition, starting in the 70's at Unity Raceway, Oxford Plains Speedway, Speedway 95, Wiscasset Speedway and many others..I raced for Budweiser in the area on the old Nascar North tour all through New England..Ended up moving to North Carolina, working at Banjo's Performance Center in the early 80's..Racing at Hickory, Asheville, Greenville, South Boston, Langley..At that time, it was the Budweiser series, then became the Busch series, which included Charlotte, Daytona, Darlington, Dover, Martinsville and many of the other famous Nascar tracks..Moved back to Maine and raced the new Busch North tour through New England, Pennsylvania..Then moved back to North Carolina in 1993..Ran some more Busch races, All Pro Series, Super Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars in Hickory, Greenville, Asheville, Tri-County and Martinsville..I was fortunate enough to win races and championships at various tracks and the regional..Won a few of the Busch North races as well..But like everyone else, probably got beat more times than I won..So obviously, this disease is forever..The coupe that he drove, was a 37-38 Ford Coupe with a flathead..I just picked up a 4-1/8 x 3-3/38 flathead that was an actual racing motor and have picked up several other parts, so I've started the collection..

I had basically forgot about Bob until DAARA's banquet this past February when Dave and his wife Connie walked out behind Vivian and I after the banquet when Vivian said hi and asked where they were from, when Connie said Dunbar W.Va and before I could say knew a midget racer from Dunbar, Connie said her father was Bob Casto..What a small world running into the Dave and Connie..Bob was one of the old breed midget racer and he will be missed..
